Conclusion
Reading both sides of the argument - pros and cons for apartheid; it's not possible to justify what amounts to institutionalized racism. South Africa arguably realized benefits from western colonization. The primary advantage cited is health care (life span & infancy survival rate). However the negatives greatly outweigh the benefits, and most likely the gains would've been realized without apartheid. From a human rights perspective, apartheid ultimately legalized class distinctions based on race or color, which degrades the value of the human being. Aside from a civil rights issue it's a human issue, realizing we're all created equal and treating each other with mutual respect.
